2-1 Yoshi Island Map
Yoshi's Island 1 is the first level on Yoshi's Island in Super Mario World, and the first level of the game. Though it is possible to beat the game without playing this level, it is the only way to reach the Yellow Switch Palace and to activate the yellow ! Blocks. Rexes are the most common enemies in Yoshi's Island 1. The level has a grassland theme. Overview[edit]Pipe Cannon. A Koopa without a Shell, sliding down a hill, is at the start of the level. The first Dragon Coin is found here as well, and soon after, a Banzai Bill is shot towards the player, followed by the first Rex. A winged ? Block yields a Super Mushroom. After a couple of more Rexes and the second Dragon Coin, a Super Mushroom pops out of a bush when the player passes. Just after another Rex, the player reaches a blue Warp Pipe containing a Jumping Piranha Plant. Only the Pipe to the right can be entered, but first the Rotating Blocks have to be destroyed, which is not possible when Mario or Luigi are in their small form. Slipping into the Pipe brings the player to a small area underground. The first ever regular Coins of the game can be found here, as well as the third Dragon Coin. To reach the latter, the player has to destroy the Rotating Blocks again. Leaving the room causes the player to be shot out of the Warp Pipe and right through the Midway Gate. When choosing not to use the underground way, the player finds another Jumping Piranha Plant and Rex. The Message Block ahead provides information about using the Item Storage. After a series of Rexes, the fourth Dragon Coin can be found on top of a hill; the hillside allows the player to slide down and defeat the oncoming Rex. If Mario or Luigi are in their big form, ducking right after sliding is recommended, because there is another Banzai Bill. Soon after, the player reaches another Message Block, telling them about picking up and throwing a Shell. The player can use this hint exactly at this point: they can pick up the Red Shell ahead and throw it up to hit the Rotating Block which releases a 1-Up Mushroom. The 1-Up Mushroom moves over the clouds above and finally falls down to the right. Having the yellow ! Blocks activated is useful here to catch the 1-Up Mushroom as it drops. A bit further, the player finds a ? Block which contains a Super Mushroom or a Fire Flower, depending on Mario or Luigi's current form. After another Banzai Bill and a Jumping Piranha Plant, the fifth and final Dragon Coin can be found, followed by the Giant Gate. This, however, is protected by a Chargin' Chuck, the first in the game. When not stomped on, the Chargin' Chuck does not move, instead continually jumping up. Dragon Coins[edit]

List of Levels in World 2[edit]Here are all the levels in World 2: Visit Koopa And Para-Koopa[edit]The first appearance of Koopa Troopa alongside with Para-Koopa. This level is very mountainous and has a lot of falling rocks that can crush Yoshi or simply fall into a pit. Poochy also makes an appearance in this level. In one area, the screen scrolls slowly upwards as Yoshi has to avoid falling rocks that pile-up on each other Tetris-style. Also, this is the first time Baby Mario can morph into Superstar Mario. The Baseball Boys[edit]Both Sluggers and Green Gloves team up here, to create a pitcher and a batter. The player must watch out, since the eggs they throw or deflect back might push the player into a hazard such as Spikes. What's Gusty Taste Like?[edit]This is Gusty's first appearance in the game, and half of the level takes place in a forest, while the other half takes place in a cave. A bonus minigame room is also located here as well. Bigger Boo's Fort[edit]A fort with many Boos and Big Boos. This is also the first appearance of Boo Man Bluff. Many Fangs aid Bigger Boo in the fight, and a lot of ! Switches can be found in this level too. Watch Out For Lakitu[edit]Lakitu, Cactus Jack, and a Pokey make their first appearances throughout the game. This stage has a lot of Shy-Guys in it, and is also the first time that Yoshi is able to transform into a Train. The Cave Of The Mystery Maze[edit]The player starts outside in the beginning of the level. They are soon in an underground room once they hit the Winged Cloud containing a door. The player is then in a smoke filled room, and carefully advances to reach another room that leads outside to a beachside area. Lakitu's Wall[edit]Many Wall Lakitus are seen in this level. The player is also in a mountainous area, filled with falling ledges and coins. Fat Guys make their first appearance here too. The Potted Ghost's Castle[edit]The boss of World 2, along with two green Shy-Guys aiding him. This level contains many areas in which Yoshi is inside a pipe, along with thorns. Yoshi is also able to transform into a train in this level. Hit That Switch!![edit]The second Extra level in the game. The player has to quickly advance while hitting the ! Switches and avoiding Piranha Plants. There is also a pipe in the beginning that contains stars, which is the only time the player is able to get them too. Mystery of the Castle?[edit]This level contains a maze which is very complex. There is also a section in which the player needs to ride Flatbed Ferries in order to advance throughout the level.
